West Virginia FFA Foundation
The West Virginia FFA Foundation was established in 1985 to provide financial assistance to the West Virginia FFA Association. The foundation receives funds from businesses, organizations and individuals interested in supporting the numerous opportunities to students in agricultural education. Contributions are safely invested and monitored, and thanks to the contributions of several donors, no administrative costs are assessed for the management of these accounts. Each contribution to the foundation generates interest income which is used for scholarships, state officer expenses and member awards. The contributions themselves are not spent, only the interest generated by them. Since the contributions remain invested and untouched, a gift to the West Virginia FFA Foundation is literally a gift which keeps on giving. 2006 has been a great year for the foundation. In addition to large corporate donations from Carhartt and Kroger Mid-Atlantic, there have been sizeable contributions from dozens of individuals, small businesses and local FFA chapters. Donors are recognized at the West Virginia FFA Convention, held in July at the Cedar Lakes Conference Center.
